Online dating is en vogue. It has taken the world by storm and is a regular element of life as we know it all over the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia. This trend may not have affected the Middle East as fast, but its getting there too.

I ask myself, why are we so enthralled by the virtaul dating game? I have to admit I virtual dating as a really sordid leisure pursuit for outsiders. But, then again, I've been single for a whole year. And why should I call it seedy if someone wants to greet someone else?

Yes, there are, undoubtedly, people who visit online dating sites to satisfy a more sexual need. Many, though, are appealed to the potential of meeting new friends so as to learn of other cultures with someone abroad.

We eat, sleep and breathe to work. We pile up in huge cities but have little time to meet others. Our homes are bulging with lonely people in search of single people, but its just too much of a burden to socialize.

Meeting new people at nightclubs is almost hardly worth the trouble too. And most often conversations is both inaudible or jibberish with a few drinks.

We, who live in the big cities, have no chance to find fellow humans. So we meet on the web.

There are others still who seek out these sites for a giggle. Online dating sites ooze with the most tall life-stories and images - anything will do to attract the attention they're looking for.
